Sections 64 and 65 of this Act require that any department or body that requests personal information ensures the need to obtain such information, identifies itself to that person and informs them:
- the name and address of the public body on behalf of which it collects this information; the use for which this information is intended; the categories of people who will have access to this information; the obligatory or optional nature of the request consequences of a refusal to respond to the request; the rights of access and rectification provided for by law.
It is important to remember that the transmission of information by email is not completely secure. This is why it is not recommended to disclose personal information such as your social insurance number by email. In order to preserve the confidentiality of your personal information, the site team will not answer your questions by email when confidential data must be exchanged.
Electronic messages are treated with the same confidentiality measures as mail received by post. If you transmit personal information by email, by filling out an unsecured online form or by subscribing to a mailing list, the site team will conclude that you consent. Be sure that :
